I have a 1979 Ford F150 currently with a 6-7" suspension lift w/35" Mickey Thompson all terrains. It has a dbl dbl roll bar with a light bar (it's seen better days) The truck has a 460 motor that I am planning on replacing with the new 7.3L Godzilla. My goal here is to follow other's projects more closely and get shop recommendations for body and mechanical near me and honestly get feedback on where to start, haha. I am excited to break ground on my project this winter and am looking forward to everyone's input!
Looking good. Keep em coming. What drivetrain do you have in it?
It currently has a 460 block, c6 auto trans, and whatever the stock (guessing) transfer case is. High pinion dana 44 in the front (I think) and a 9" rear.
The next big push on the project will be to drop the transfer case and transmission out of it. I have the 7.3L crate sitting in the garage. I've been trying to decide to order either the new 10r140 trans or picking up the 6r140. Right now I am planning on keeping the stock transfer case and just having it rebuilt/cleaned up and keeping the same axles under it and putting a big brake kit and disc conversion in the rear.
I know Fat Fender Garage has two crates and they finished up the front engine dress but they too are waiting on the control pack which Ford is taking forever to release....but I still have plenty of work ahead of me to keep me busy so I am only complaining a little, haha.
