I carry the Viair. I think that it is the RV450. Continuous duty, so no need to cool down when using it. The lesser models have a limited duration period, then they have to shut down to cool down, as they generate a lot of heat. It has clips and you hook it directly to the battery, like a set of jumper cables. I have no problem topping of my tires, which I also keep at 80 PSI for both the truck and trailer.
I have one of these because it was on sale at the same time I was in the store, and I wanted to have a compressor in the truck that was capable of handling the 70 and 75 PSI required for the truck and fiver.
However, note that I haven't used it on those tires yet, so I can't speak to it's effectiveness. I can attest that it was capable of airing up the wife's minivan to 35 PSI when I wanted to test it out. I carry it more for a 'just in case' use. Normally at home, I'll pull out the pancake and use that for any airing up of big tires, or my little compact one (like this: https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/c...5211p.html#srp) for small jobs like the kid's bikes, basketballs, etc...
My ideal setup would be to get a full on-board air system installed. But you know the saying "Bills to pay before toys to play."
I throw my Bostich pancake compressor in the garage of our raptor, Tires, inflatables, it's come in handy multiple times. 99% of the time it's helped other campers.

I carried a pancake as well. Ran off the inverter and saved my bacon a bunch of times. Went to a Viair installed under the bed to save space, I would recommend either.
I tested three from Amazon, and ended up keeping the Dewalt. The Dewalt will run off of the truck 120v outlet but the others won't, pumped up to the highest pressure (I run 120psi in my 5th-Wheel), and had some other winning points that I don' remember... And last weekend I pumped up my f350 tires from 35psi to 80psi rear and 45psi to 60psi front without stopping (plugged into the RV outlet), which I thought was a pretty good test...
2nd the Viair 400P-RV, I made an adapter from a female 7 pin and plug it into the trailer connector on the bumper of the truck to keep from raising the hood every time I use it, I also use it to winterize here in Texas, I use a regulator set at 30psi plugged into the outside shower connection and just blow the lines out with air

You can get enough current out of the 7 pin to run the compressor? How much have you used it like that? Have you tried for example to air a tire up to 80 psi with it wired like that?
