I have a 2019 f350 6.7 with 22000 miles. I took it to the dealer On August 12th because it was hard starting like that batteries were dead. They told me my ECM was bad. My truck has been sitting at the Ford auto nation in St.Petersburg for 75 days now! They said the company that makes the part went under during Covid-19 and they are looking for a new vendor. I love this truck but I am very unhappy with Ford. What can I do?
Thanks Ron
Call customer service and see what they have to say.
Here is the number 1 (800) 392-3673
Maybe they want the truck back since they cant find the part to fix it. Any 2020's on the lot you like?

They have no Super duty’s on the lot. I will call customer service. Thanks
I know you like the truck, but after calling customer service, the next call is to legal council. Determine what legal choices you have and go from there. 75 days with zero hope for fix is ludicrous...no need to wait any longer. 3 years/36,000 miles has to mean something.
Only other option I see is surf the web for a wrecked truck you can pull a (hopefully functioning) ECM.
Ford Parts, actual FoMoCo parts website and not a dealer, shows the part unavailable and on back order. Not sure what anyone can do for you other than maybe replace your truck with a different one?
I feel for you. I went hrough much worse with a 2008 with 30k miles in Florida. Ford will literally laugh at you because Florida has a lemon law that only
applies to a truck with a gross weight RATING less than 10k. 250's, 350's and 450's need not apply. Screwed up Republican legislators. I took a massive hit and traded out if it with zero help from Ford. The 2011 was much better, but an early job 1 with questionable valves breaking off so another bite the bullet, at what I thought was a loss, but the 2015 is so much more of a truck. PS, all were king ranch or platinum models but did not mean crap to ford. Good luck.

I think that law is nation wide. It's not a republican thing. You can't do a lemon law on a truck in Ca with a GVRW over 10.000#
When the Shelby GT500 was coming out they had to stop production because Ford couldn't get radios. The problem of getting a ECM from Ford is that they only buy enough parts to build trucks that are in production. Every part is spoken for even if its a fender Ford just can't take one off the shelf and give it to someone because its spoken for. This is a problem for all the automakers not just at Ford. When Ford runs out of the ECU's they have in stock they will have to stop production.
This has happened more than once and It makes folks mad. It happened to me once and I just had to wait but not as long as R-Kid has been waiting.
I wish automakers would build more parts in house instead of somewhere else. That does 2 things.
1 makes sure that the quality of the part is good.
2 Makes sure the parts are getting made. Ford is NOT going out of business.

I will preface by saying sorry for your troubles, and I fully understand your frustration. Been there, done that. A couple of questions, 1. Did you buy the truck new?
2. Is it at the dealer you bought it from?
When I kept having issues with my 2015 F-350 DRW taking out the lift pump, the last time it happened I hauled it back to the dealer I bought it from and told them I wanted to know “WHY” this kept happening. After a few days of searching, they said Ford was replacing the entire fuel system. Top to bottom, start to finish, complete. BUT, since they had upgraded the system in 2015, none were in stock, and were on national backorder. This gave me some leverage, so I went in and sat down with the store manager; and in the end they basically did a buy back, prorating the 20,000+ miles I had put on the truck. They transferred all my accessories from the 2015 to a 2016 similar equipped truck on their dime also. In the end I came in with a year old truck with over 20,000 miles and drove out with a year newer truck with zero miles and all my accessories for 12,000 bucks and did not have a truck I no longer trusted. Peace of mind sometimes has value.
I talked to a factory worker who said they are having a heck of time getting enough parts to keep up with the assembly line. It was a major problem the last months as the parts suppliers have dealt with Covid and the shutdowns.
My battery terminals on my 2017 dissolved. I tried to buy a new cable. and it was outragously expensive, But it was national backorder and the parts counter told me it would 7 months waiting.
I mainly didn't want to pay the $700 price for a part or the $1300 labor to install it, but I wasn't going to wait either, So I fixed it myself.
It's crazy that parts are that back ordered, But also crazy that cable could cost that much and why should a 30 month old battery cable dissolve?
The ECU appears to be in stock here, you would need to confirm with your VIN. If it is in fact in stock, you dealer certainly isn't doing everything they can to get you back on the road.

I suspect if you call them to order it, they will tell you they do not stock it and will have to order. Then they will say it is on back order from Ford. But, they might can give you a date of availability.
The actual Ford Motor Company parts website clearly states it is not available and on back order status.
