I've been pleased with the Peragon so far. Easy to remove and no canister.
It is very similar to the RetraxProMX, only differences I see:
1) Price...about $600 less
2) Amount of weight it can hold, aside from an occasional dead pheasant or nine, I don't need 500 lb rating.
3) It can only lock in the fully closed position, The RetraxProMX can lock in any position.
4) Assembly time Peragon about 3 hours ( I had numerous interruptions), RetraxProMX 1 hour...ALLEGEDLY.
5) Takes two to assemble, putting the rail system onto the bed, wife helped for 4 minutes.

They only fold at the front, and stay in the rail system until the panels get near the cab. Essentially you only lose the first 5"- 6" immediately behind the cab.

Reason: clarification
I have 2019 CCSB and put a Lomax tri-fold bed cover on it. Couple of reasons for this choice, 1) Wanted a metal cover vs plastic or vinyl
2) Installed full Bedrug liner in bed and didn’t want to cut holes for drain lines
3) Wanted to open/close tailgate with cover open or closed
4) Matte color very close match to Magnetic color if truck
5) Unit has 5 latches in each side, no vibration while driving
Unit sets on bed rails and seals completely, zero water leakage. This is same unit sold by Weather Tech. Install about 1hour. Been in service 24 months with no issues. Use Meguires spray wax on it and keeps it bright and it beads water.
Cons:If you need use of full bed with tall items the cover has to be removed. It is a one person job and takes about 60 seconds. Cost $840 shipped to store.
I had a bakflip mx4 on my last truck. It was very easy to use and sturdy enough. My only complaint was the extreme Arizona sun and heat was destroying the rubber gaskets between the panels. They were starting to crack and tear after less than 3 years. However, my vehicles are parked outside year round. Not sure if any product would do much better. Just sharing my experience with the product.
Not intending to pile on BAK FLIP as I may end up getting another one if I can convince myself that the quality has improved some. I put a bakflip HD on my tundra in 2015 and it was great for the duration of the warantee (2 years) but it started to leak after that and almost three years in it became a little puffy, like cardboard that got wet and dried out. About a year ago a hail storm put about 100 clear dents in the top of the bakflip but had no effect on the 13' tundra.
To me it looks like the diamond back is great, but not being able to throw the cycles in keeps me searching..
