I've never paid much attention to weight much. I am in the concrete finishing buis. Pull a 6000 lb skid steer on 3 different trailers. Usually 10 to 12 k. One is a gooseneck . The other day I was hauling approx 6 yards of wet clay on my tri axel bumper pull dump trailer. Pulled into a scale cause I knew I was heavy. 20 000lbs! My f350 crew long box srw with 6.2 and 4.30s did awsome! To all the paranoid do gooder leftist safety first people on site-‐------- my apologies.
2013. 260 000km. Approx 160 000 miles. Trouble free. Knock on wood.
I do watch weight. A lot! I can’t afford to get caught over, insurance and such is already expensive enough. I regularly pull a 15k dump trailer. A few times, I have pulled over 20k. It’s not bad. I’m in eastern Kansas. Nothing here is flat, but we don’t have mountains. My truck just turned 50k miles. I wouldn’t be worried about pulling 20k more often, as long as it’s on the right trailer.

Pulling weight is not the problem, stopping the weight is. I used to pull heavy loads all the time with a 4 Axle Peterbuilt and a 13 Axle Cozad trailer. Had no problem pulling 350,000 pounds or stopping it. Pulling 350,000 pounds on a comparable 18 wheeler could be done but the only having 5 axles of brakes is not going to stop it very well.

Stopping is not an issue if ur trailer brakes and controller are set up. I manually use the stock brake controller
