edit: woops, already mentioned.
There's another option as well now which I prefer. The Torklift EcoHitch. It comes out in the middle of the bumper and has a much higher capacity. Install is a bit more because you have to remove the bumper.

Get one and you can push your boat down the highway with the front hitch while towing your trailer with the rear hitch!

I've got a hitch on the front, but haven't used it yet. I thought it would be helpful to be able to maneuver my trailer into a tight spot using it, but in three years have never had to do so.

Thumbs up on the Torklift front hitch. Fits great on the 7.3 gas w/less relocations than diesel. Just trimming the plastic insert. Does require bumper removal. Comes with license plate/cover plug.
The hitch is rather high, so plan on a dedicated deep drop hitch when using; 10” or 12”

I used my front hitch for bike racks, winches, backing a 8X20 trailer into a tight spot, carrying a front hitch box, etc.
I have the below the bumper version......the below the bumper version has less tounge weight rating than the above the bumper version...but it sits a good height....and...I have a few feet of heavy chain with a 10,000lb hook on each end...I can wrap my hitch and hook my tow links and get more toumge weight that way.
the front hitch is also good for those folks that like to back up into your bumper while they park...they think a bumper is for bumping....anyway..an upside down ball sends a great message...the offenders bumper will catch and the offender has to fiigure out how to play herky jerky to get unhooked with out ripping their bumper off.
