Have a 2000 Excursion that I am getting ready to tune. I like the tuning options that the DPC-422 PCM has to offer with the Hydra and would like to swap the PCM in my Excursion. Converting from a GPCM to a Glow plug relay is no problem. Will everything work properly in an Excursion (XLT), and will the lack of PATS cause any issues?
Yes, it's completely possible and when you're done, recoup any costs by selling your unicorn PCM for big bucks on eBay. Your mention of a glow plug module means you have a DPC-452 now and you're looking at a minimum of $750 or so to the right buyer (probably Flag Ship One).
Thanks for the insight, for $750 it must really be a unicorn. Going to try and locally source a DPC-422 first and go from there, if you search hard enough you can find them for around $150.
