Tow hook?
This is a loop under my 03 Tribute, just behind the hitch. Is that a tow / off road recovery point? If not, can someone tell me what it’s for? I can always use the hitch as a recovery point if needed. Thanks.

Be careful using the hitch as a recovery point as well. The vehicle / hitch combination has a maximum trailer weight rating (not tongue weight). Get the vehicle seriously stuck and someone pulling you out could easily exceed that rating by quite a bit. Flying trainer hitches can inflict quite a bit of damage.
