The last 3 that I had never had a hitch installed. I did install one on the 03 I had. Then traded it in about 2 years after I installed it.The current one had the factory tow package. Wont buy another one with out the tow package.
My 2010 STX 4.6 had no hitch receiver when i bought it. I had the dealer put one on at no charge to me. It did however had the 4 pin trailer connection.
I don't think i'll ever get one without a tow package... the towing capability on my truck is far from good. I believe i'm limited to 5,500 LBS. I don't really tow that much so it's not that big of a deal, but would like the option to tow something bigger if needed.
ya its like **** on a bore hog there's just no reason for it! wish auto makers would get this! my 92 F150 came with out one but oddly enough it had the four pin plug hanging there?
Is there anyone here who bought a 2009 and newer F-150 without a tow hitch? And, do you still own the truck? And, do you intend to install a hitch?
Tim...please choose one of the followinng:
A) You are just curious how many people bought trucks without a hitch.
B) You are wondering because you do not have one and intend to install a hitch on your truck.
C) You are wanting to sell your hitch to someone less fortunate.

None of the above. The only trucks that I've ever seen without a tow package were the used trucks (2009 and newer) that were obviously purchased at auction from the rental fleets.
I just purchased a 2012 F150 XL without a Hitch or trailer wiring. I have had it about 3 weeks now.
I ordered a Drawtite Hitch for it, and am looking at installing the Ford TBC if I can afford it.

I'm 99% sure that you can't add a Ford TBC to a truck that didn't come factory with a 7-pin connection. As you don't have a factory hitch, I would imagine that you don't have the 7-pin connection. Sorry

I am still researching, but you are probably correct.
