I recently posted questions about my engine freshening and paint....I received some very good advice and 2 products were recommended
Dupli-Color DE1617 Ford GreenEngine Paint & Herschel Lincoln/Merc Lt Green
Unfortunately, they are only available in the US and can not be shipped into Canada, where I live (Sudbury, Ontario)
Are there any Canadians that can give me some advice or from my US friends as well
Thanks

you are correct the 51 truck engine color was red. I showed my engine color and made paint recommendation because Fiipper 55 indicated the engine he had was green Regardless Hirsch makes great engine paint.
Yes the 51 engines were red and went to green in 52....that’s what I understand.
My truck was built in Windsor, Ontario and perhaps in the lateness of assembly a green engine was installed.
My engine is definitely green and I would like to keep it the same same colour, but I am not opposed to painting it red if need be....I would be OK with that.
The trouble I am having is that I cannot seem to be able to buy the Ford green paint in Canada....there is lots in the US, but it can’t be shipped across the border for whatever reason and with Covid restrictions I can’t drive over to the US to pick it up.
I can buy Ford red in Canada without any problems
I am early in my quest to source the green paint and will not require it for a month or so...I might get lucky yet and find some.
Thanks everyone for your help
I believe Bill Hirsch has suppliers in Canada? The mercury light green Is the specific color. People say Detroit diesel green is a close match but I find that it’s way to blue green like a minty green. The merc light green is more a yellow green. It’s an odd color for sure. I can mail you a swatch of the bill hirsch merc lt green if your sold on that Color and you can have it mixed by a local supplier to that color. Any body shop should able to help you out with this.
Here's a pic of the Bill Hirsch Lincoln Mercury light green:
As far as I could determine, it is the closest to the stock green engine color. If I had it to do over again, I would definitely choose the same paint, but try harder to do a better job painting. I used a brush. The paint was thick and a little tricky to get an even coat. I wish I would have thinned the paint and applied two coats. My engine leaks oil just about everywhere possible. The carb has done a lot of leaking too, but the engine paint continues to clean up very well and still looks good. I don't have any areas that look heat damaged. Good luck to you in getting the paint you want for your project.
