1999 5.4L Upgrades
Why do later years have higher HP ratings, I know about the 3 valves, but I am asking about the 2 valves, power upgrades, bolt-ons, different programing that are available?

I have no experience with the 5.4, I'm a V-10 guy. But the 6.8s in '99 had lower numbers than later model 2Vs due to the head and intake design changes that came in '00 known as the Performance Improved (PI) upgrade. Not sure if the 5.4 had those same PI upgrades between '99 and '00 but if they did that would account for the higher output numbers in newer 2V 5.4s.
