Another 628 code problem
I have a 94 F150 4x4, recently swapped the 5.0 L for a 5.8L. I'm getting the dreaded 628 code. I've read the other threads and still not sure what the actual cause is. It originally had a PIP code along with the 628 and others that we have work through. The PIP code has not reappeared just the 628 and 172. Trans shifts from 1st to 2nd fine, but never shifts into 3rd. If you let up on the the accelerator rpms drop and it sounds like it shifted into 3rd, but when you try to accelerate trans acts like it's in natural.
Trans was rebuilt 40k miles ago with new TC.
ago.During the engine swap the TC came off the input shift and the ground. So I'm suspecting TC damage, but wanted some input before throwing a new TC at it.
