ford engine
i have a 96 2.3l engine. im planning a project sometime soon on swaping the engine with something much more powerful than this dinky 4 cylinder. will the original transmission work for this and what enginewould be a better fit for this ranger; 302 351 289? and are there any specailty parts i would need to make this fit, or can i just pull the 2.3 out and put the replacement in?

also, i know there are several different 302`s 351`s (right?) so do it matter what year or model fits in this ranger?
do i need new pumps, hoses, etc or can i use the same from the 96 engine to convert to the newer engine?
