I'm trying to figure out what year truck this tailgate came off of. I have not been able to find a single picture of a tailgate with the ford oval emblem in the bottom right hand corner. Is it a custom job someone did? Any help would be much appreciated.
doesn't the cover have to go to the bottom of the bead? It is quite possible that it is a cover from the ranger, but a ranger has a narrower flap right?

The tailgate in these 2 pictures looks like it came from a 1985 or 1986 F150.

This one came from the late 80’s Ranger. Fords SMALL truck.

This one came from a 85 or 86 F150 or bigger full size truck.

1983/91 Ranger tailgate with 1987/91 Ranger Tailgate Finish Panel with Blue Oval emblem.
1983/86 Ranger Tailgate Finish Panel has individual chrome FORD letters.
Is this mystery tailgate in your possession? Or was that a picture sent by a potential seller? Seems a quick measurement would confirm if it fits a full-size F series or a compact Ranger. After that, you could narrow down the model year and trim level.
