Does this Exhaust mod make any difference?? Pics inside

Does this exhaust modification make a hill of beans difference in actually feeling any more power out of a 5.4 ??

Have any of you that have a 5.4 motor done this exhaust modification?

What differences did you notice?

Could you actually feel much of an improvement in power??

Thanks

I'd like to hear more about this modification. Not really sure what your trying to accomplish, but I doubt you're going to get much from just doing some mods on the exhaust.

Just asking people who have actually done this mod the question, if after they did it on their 5.4 truck, did they find that it made a difference they could feel?

This will reduce backpressure in the system and smooth out the flow of your exhaust, because instead of one side entering the other at 90°, they are now entering basically parallel to a unified system.

Without other mods, this isn't going to do much to increase power. It will change the sound of your exhaust, and may make the side of your engine that is entering sideways (judging from the pics the passenger side) run better and cooler, since the heat from the exhaust won't build up right there.

It's probably how Ford should have designed that exhaust from the beginning, though I do question why Ford ever put the 5.4 in SD trucks. It's a great motor in an F150 or an Expedition, it really is, but every SD I've ever driven with a 5.4 has felt like a dog until it got into the higher RPMs that it likes, and even then it wasn't exciting because of that big, heavy SD driveline.

Its a standard mod on the V10 Mod motor. The 5.4 plus 2 more cylinders. But until you do more, like a tune, you probably wont feel a big difference.

yes I did it to my V10 shortly after buying it.

I did that to my 2004 F350...it seemed to help with throttle response and the truck moves easier. I now swapped in the early 99 to 2000 "ram horn" y-pipe and the truck seems to run fine with that also. No drone or anything and seems to have good low end torque, maybe smoother sounding exhaust also. Whatever you do removing that crap restrictor dropdown is going to help, if I was stock still I'd just have a exhaust shop cut it out and weld in a ypipe that's made for the factory size ypipe instead of the knock down collar they ship with that y

4.10 help but 4.30 option is the only way. That's what my 5.4 has and it's perfect

Excellent feedback SuperDutyScaler!

Thank You! You are appreciated!

Do you maybe have pics of the 1999 2000 ram horn y-pipe please? I'd be interested in trying to find one of those to buy.

Thanks 👍
