I'm towing a Jayco Eagle trailer with a 1900lbs tongue weight. Not a lot of options at that tongue, so I ended up with a BlueOx Sway Pro. Simple to use, good weight distribution, 2.5" shank and priced competitively. Just drove the past 2 days through nasty cross winds along I-80 and it kept everything in line and safe. I did recently replace the chain tensioners with Lippert Straptek tensioners, which is a nice upgrade and prevents the sometimes scary tension release with 2000lb spring bars. Definitely my favorite WDH in my RV-ing career.
What model Jayco? Our '14 Eagle 338RETS scaled out with 1860lbs of tongue weight. I use a Hensley Arrow with the 1400lb bars as they are the heaviest available for the HA, that just means that the truck sees a little more of the weight on the rear axle than it would with 2K bars.
I’ve been towing our Winnebago 37’, 8800# (dry) with 14,000# equalizer hitch for several years. Trailer grossed out at about 10k with about 1100# on the tongue. Frankly, I’ve never had a problem with the system and it combines weight distribution with sway resistance. Simple, old-school and it works. I’m towing now with a 2020 F250 6.7L diesel. Great combination.
I tow a Outdoor RV Timber Ridge 22FQS that weighs about 7500 fully loaded with a tongue wt of 1300 #. I use a Equal-i-zer 4 point hitch with 1400 bars and 2.5 receiver. Equal-i-zer bars come in 200 pound increments so you can dial them in pretty close to actual tongue wt. Very simple to hook up, (I use the tongue Jack to install bars) and I have never felt or seen any sway. We always have windy conditions in the northern rockies. Whatever you get make sure it fits your truck’s receiver without using the reducer sleeves.
