My turbo was sticking. Pulled it apart to clean it. The unison ring was stuck to the top piece. Started to clean the turno and learned there is heavy pitting where the veins go and deep chunks of metal missing o the other half. Is it okay to reuse or is it time to replace. I need my truck in a week for a trip so I either need to put it back as is if it's okay or replace the turbo if needed.
UPDATE: I went ahead and purchased a new one from Throughbred Diesel. The more I looked at it, the more I realized how bad of shape it was in.
While I have it out, should I check the screen on the IPR Valve? I have easy access to it. When I did the EGR delete, Standpipes, dummy plugs, etc, I changed the screen on the HPOP and the IPR. That was at 55k miles. I now have 95k
