Hi guys, my 2 cents, If I had it to do again I would insure for what it would cost to rebuild. P.S.as I have stated B4 Hagerty treated me wonderfully when I did loose my truck.
I agree Jimmy. My truck certainly isn't worth anything close to $20K on the market, but I wanted it insured for enough so it could be fixed regardless of it's post "accident" condition or value.
The Oldsmobile in my signature was side swiped while it was parked disabled on a highway. Every panel and both doors on the passenger side were damaged. The insurance company settlement was fair from the standpoint that they gave me what the car was realistically worth, but it was not nearly enough to cover repairs. I ended up letting it go even though I justified buying it for big $$$ in 2006 with the idea it would be my "last" major car purchase. Now I'm hoping my 2012 will be that "forever" vehicle. It has 198,000 miles, however, and I must say my wife is growing a bit "restive" as the years and miles go by. LOL.
