Measurement needed

The guy who had my truck before me added a spacer between the intake and the carb and cut and welded the bracket that holds the throttle cable and made it longer. I put on the original carb without the spacer and now of course the bracket is too high. I need the measurement from the "flat" part or the bracket to the center of the hole that the bolt screws in to. Also the throttle cable is like broke in the middle of the two metal covers. Why was there a metal end to hook to the carb and then plastic tubing and then another metal covering????

I think you should retain the spacer. Either use a plastic or wood spacet or if you can find one the water heated/cooled type. LoKar makes a nice cable and bracket. After that its time for a trip to the Junk Yard.

What size engine and type of carb? My 64 uses a rod and linkage to the pedal. Your truck must be a 65-66?
