well i was under my dash today and seen brake fluid leaking inside from the rod that connects to the pedal.so im sure its time to replace the master cylinder.is there any upgrades for this fix such as newer or bigger cylinders?anything helps thanks Sean.
Sean check out www.mpbrakes.com. You can upgrade to a dual chamber MC (split system) that will separate the front brakes from the rear in the event you lose braking in part of the system. This will require some new lines, a new MC and a block to reconnect the front brakes and the rear brakes. You may also want to add power assist brakes on your truck and this would be even better. Retain the drum brakes you currently own and add the plumbing, MC and booster for power drum/drum. I ran a similar system for years on my truck and it was really OKAY! Buy the catalog from MP Brakes, well worth the five bucks. The single chamber MC you currently have is a big risk and MC failure leaves you with no brakes. I'd recommend you take action immediately to resolve this problem.
I am also at the point where I'm considering upgrading the brakes, the problem is that I have a 65 f250 4x4 - and if I'm not mistaken - it has a straight axle (though correct me if I'm wrong). The only bolt on disk conversion kits I've noticed for a straight axle is up to 64 for 1/2 ton. Has anyone done a disk conversion on a 65-66 F250 4x4? Does anyone know about bolt on conversion kits for this application? Any direction would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

p.s. sorry about the repeat message in another brake forum - I read the other one and my question seemed more appropriate in that discussion and was unable to move or delete my first post.
