Can anyone comment on what is a fair price for a 1963 FLARESIDE, it has a 5 year old body off with PPG paint, finished box, zero rust, has 312 Thunderbird, motor, 4 speed, new rocket wheels, stainless exhaust....not show truck, probably needs a few things......its my retire gift to myself....see pics
Hagerty says $5800 fair and 10,800 good. Sounds a little high to me but trucks are hot right now. From their description of the conditions neither one of those would have anything more than very minor rust.
Hard to tell without at least pictures but for comparisons sake I gave $6K for a fairly rust free rust free '62 flairside that was restored in the early 90's. Pretty much a nice driver.
Have way more than that into mine, but I know it was done right. What does the underside look like? It has a 64 grille and upper valance on it. Can you get a picture of the warranty plate?
It was built Dec 63 so it also has cade 381 for body number only available in 64, I was told that some states titled them in the year they were sold??? under is rust free and seems to run good, I appreciate your comments. Thank You

If it was built in Dec of 63 then it is a 64 no matter how it is titled. Also the 312 Thunderbird motor is suspect. Attached is a pic of my 312 Thunderbird motor that is actually the original 292 which is probably what this truck has.
what a beautiful engine bay, the truck I am looking at is no where even close, I don't want a show quality vehicle just a nice driver but at 20k I am not sure, the Hagerty prices are really low compared to what is available. I am trying to post a copy of the warranty plate for you but not having any luck.
Good looking truck but from the pictures I feel the price is 25-50% high. Don't see any A/C. Has the brake system been upgraded to discs? Sound system? In the end it's worth what you are willing to pay.
"381 BODY code was not used in 1963, so either the door was replaced along with the Warranty Plate, or the truck is a 1964/65/66."
That warranty plate is for a 1964. 381 is again, nothing special beyond what I mentioned already. Standard Cab with Green bench seat upholstery.
Looks like a clean truck in the pictures but they are small for me. I don't love the wheels but that's personal preference and easy to change it you didn't like them but even easier to live with them. 20K is not a lot if the drivetrain, body work and paint have been done well and the rest of it is to your liking. ND said he would buy it if it were him.
Thanks, yes I agree it's a 64, just built in Dec 63 and titled as a 63. I wish I could inspect it in person as I live in Canada and the border is closed so now I would have to pay and rely on a third party INPECTION @ $400.
Lou Sal where is the truck? Someone here may be willing to go look at it for you if close to them. There are many that are real knowledgeable on where and what to look for. I tried to pm you but I can't
Thank You, the truck is in Montross VA 22520 it was at the GAA auction in Greensbors NC in July but did not sell, it was bid to $17,500 with a reserve of $20,000. The guy says he will now take $19,000 plus the auction fees that amount to $20,500.
I am just a bit confused as the prices are all over the place some a lot more and some way less (Hagerty says 11k in good condition???? very difficult to make a decision. Thanks for your help.
