Bought a new 2020 XLT thinking I could do manual regens, when on the freeway rather than when I am about to pull into the garage, only to be told that feature and the DPF % can no longer be added to the screen. Is this true or is the dealer shop not up to speed on this? Thanks for any help.

Are you familiar with Forscan? If not I'd suggest trying it out. It's very easy to use now and will save you time and money.
With Forscan, you can enable the DPF filter % load screen and the option to enable or disable the automatic active/passive regen but as far as I know there is no way to trigger an active regen on demand. The closest thing I have found is to turn off automatic active/passive regen until the filter hits 100% then get on the highway and turn it back on. In a bit, the truck will start an automatic active regen.
I find it absolutely rediculous that there is no way to trigger an on demand active regen. The truck has no idea when to make the decision only that it does when the filter hits 100%. If you are not in a good place, the regen will end early and the filter will not get cleaned properly starting this cycle all over again.
Some report that you can manually trigger a static regen if you have automatic active/passive regen disabled, the filter load % is 100%, the truck is up to temp, and the parking brake is engaged. I hate the idea of my truck sitting in my driveway for 30 minutes reved up to high rpm wasting fuel. I would very much appreciate the ability to trigger an on demand active regen when I know I am on a highway with enough distance to cover that will get the filter clean.
Also be aware that Forscan can trigger static regen's on older trucks but that option is not available on the 2020's yet or at least I have not been able to find it.
Thanks. Yes I have read about Forscan, but don't know much about it. For some reason I have never seen the regen come up on the screen and I have 2500 miles on the truck now. I was told you could do a manual regen on an XLT, but I should have known better than take the sales mans word for it. Oh well still like the truck. Thanks again.
@Brantel I understand your frustration. From what I understand ford only allows an on demand regen when 100% full because regens do stress the DPF and if regens are done too frequently damage to the DPF can result. Though many may not do this ford chose to protect themselves from people who would not use the feature properly.
Well the truck could have had the manual regeneration option selected at build time. The IDS will not let you enable it on 2020 trucks. You will need forscan.

Do you have the productivity screen on your dash? I enabled my DPF % screen and the OCR (operator commanded regen) using Forscan. It's very easy to use now. A 30 day trial is free and it's very cheap to buy a license after that.
If you add the DPF soot % screen, you should also be able to un-check auto regen. I have that capability on my XLT. By un-checking auto regen it will notify you when it reaches 100%.
