Yep. With the 2020s if you have a 3 in receiver they will include a reducer. But they stopped including the reducers if you have the 2.5 in which is on mine. Our local Auto Zone has several on hand. Don’t know about their quality.
I wasn't impressed with the basic Reese sleeve (which is likely what Vatozone carries). It stopped about 1/2" inside the receiver, meaning it doesn't support the shank at the outer most edge. I re-drilled the pin hole so the sleeve would support all the way to the outer edge of the 2-1/2" receiver. It took a lot of the slop out of it also as an added benefit.
I had same issue with my carport. By backing in, also on incline, it just fits i side with 1 inch clearance at the 1st and 2nd bars. Unfortunately the truck is 1 foot too long, but thats ok, the *** end can stick out.
i too may use my antenna like whiskers and cut it to an inch above roof line
I was able to order the Ford oem reducer. Hopefully you would hope it fits right. Also, already have it scheduled at the local Ford dealership tomorrow. It’s leaking transmission fluid. Pretty good puddle of it. Can’t tell exactly from where on the transmission as there is a heat shield in the way. Only 613.9 miles on it. Gonna keep my fingers crossed it isn’t major. No problems with it shifting on the way home.
It's not the force settings that need to be adjusted, it is the Travel/Limits that need to be adjusted. And be careful, if you don't have the spring tension to hold the door up that high, the cables can come off of the drums causing all kinds of havoc!!
You are correct; I misspoke.
Here is a good explanatory video - can adjust your door to open all the way.
I had to replace the 2x8 header on my door with a 5/16" thick vinyl trim piece, clears by about an inch. Leaving it outside was not an option. I actually did a little test run before buying with my copilot in the bed watching.
As the majority of the trailers use a 2" or 1 7/8" ball. My truck did come with the 3" to 2 1/2" reducer but did not like the idea to using two reducers. This one fits nicely and does not rattle around to much.
Yeah, I’m using a different adapter (Curt) with mine. The Ford one I had to argue about to get in the deal had an oval pin hole which caused slop and beat my pin to crap. I am planning to swap my WDH shank out to a 2.5 for next season.
Here's the antenna I replaced mine with. It's a perfect replacement and I have noticed no difference in reception, though I very rarely, and I mean VERY rarely ever listen to OTA anymore. It's usually Sirius/XM or streaming over bluetooth. But ya gotta have it "just in case".
You’re kidding, right? Ford stopped giving the reducer and pin with the truck? I got a 3” to 2-1/2” AND a 2-1/2” to 2” with my 2017. It’s not like 2-1/2” or 3” stingers are just sitting on the shelves, and neither are the reducers. Even three years after I bought my 2017, they just don’t seem to be stocked items. Better get on that NOW if you need it this weekend... just in case.
I bought the Curt set for around $36. Also they are lipped so they don't move when putting a trailer on.
Cracked transmission pan. Most likely over torqued at the factory. Pans are on back order until at least Oct. 19th. Said it seems to be a common problem hence the unavailability of the pans.
He also said he doesn’t have much faith in these composite pans holding up very well to normal use.
Looks like I won’t need the reducer right away as my F250 is out of commission until at least Oct. 19th.
