Hi, my airbag light is on solid (it does not blink out a code) and the SRS code I get is B2296. This is for impact crash sensor but I don't know which one. Forscan gives me B2296-E0. Anyone know what the suffix E0 means?
I changed the front impact sensor but the light is still on. Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this issue? Thank you.
HINT/TIP: Put your vehicle information (year, model, cab, trim, engine, wheelbase, _x4 drive, mileage, modifications, etc., etc.) in your signature -OR- provide it in your posting(s).
I can certainly do that. I actually have a Navigator but assume the SRS system and codes are shared with F150. 2010 Lincoln Navigator 4x4 5.4L 3v.
This shouldn't change the answer to my question concerning Ford SRS codes and the suffix E0 as it pertains to code B2296. I'd like to hear from anyone who has information on this code, suffix or solid airbag light on any Ford vehicle, not just the Navigator.

Guess what. Model and year are essential identification elements. Without them, no one can look in the proper reference materials as those are indexed by year and model. Different models get stuff over the course of a couple years with the luxury models often getting them first. Avoid 20 questions, just put that information in your initial post...
Your vehicle has five impact sensors, any or all of which could trigger a main DTC of B2296. There is supposed to be a suffix, called a fault PID, that indicates the source sensor that triggered the error with a valid range of 18 to 31. "E0" is not listed as a valid fault PID so I'd have to guess it's an incomplete or incorrect diagnostic read within Forscan.
See if you can get Forscan to do the on-demand self test for the SRS system. If so, is should report the fault PIDs correctly (if properly implemented and executed, that is).
Thanks for your help. I started trying to fix this with my scanner from harbor frieght, the zurich zr13 that can read srs codes. That gave me a code of B2296 with no PID so I figured it was a limitation of the scanner and tried forscan to get the PID.
Because there is no blinking of the air bag light and the scanner and forscan aren't giving PIDs, it looks like the PCM isn't giving a PID?
I've tried the srs self test with no additional info provided.
I have an update and resolution to this issue. It seems the previous owner put a door from an 07 navigator on my 10 navigator. After checking the part numbers on Tasca it looks like the impact sensors aren't compatible between those years.
I bought a new front door impact sensor from Tasca for my 2010 and after I installed it the light went out.
I guess the fact that the impact sensor was wrong instead of bad is what was preventing the PID from presenting itself? It even looks like the guy modified the connector and plug to make them fit. Maybe the suffix E0 in Forscan means PID error? In any case, I sure am glad that light is out.
