Ford pass is killing my iPhone battery and I cannot understand why. Location services within the phone and app are off. I haven’t even used the app in a week. It randomly drains my battery. No issues yesterday and then it started draining it this morning. Anyone having this issue?
Yes, same here and many many others are reporting the same issue after updating to iOS 14.
Lots of people leaving negative reviews for this issue on the app page in the app store.
To reduce the effect of this issue, I set my location services to only allow FordPass to use it when I am using the app. This helped some but not like before the issue showed up.
Clearly something needs updated in the app to make it work better with iOS 14.
I made sure that everything within the app was turned off and closed the app as well. On the battery screen within settings, it showed 68% of my battery usage was the Ford Pass app and was "background activity".
As stated above, I believe the app does not play well with iOS14. I never had any problems with battery drain prior to updating my phone to 14.
The Android version was having issues (at least I was) with Remote Start - I would get a Dialogue Box that stated "We are having Maintenance Issues with Remote Start, Lock and Unlock - Please be patient. We will get these issues resolves as soon as we can." Though, my remote start still started anyway - all I had to do was clear the message! That went on for about eight days and finally just stopped on 10/1/20 without an App update??? Didn't notice if that was causing me any battery drain however...

Same here. Usually i go into settings and stop the app. I have to do this with my work time clock too so it stops following me through GPS 🤨
I think the iOS 14 has plenty of bugs to work out.
This morning I looked at the battery section on my iPhone XS Max, to my surprise, Waze was using 33% but, even though I have Waze on my phone, I never use it and I have everything related to it turned off including having it turned off under the cellular settings.
I have no idea how it could use 33% with everything turned off.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Perhaps in the background, Google maps is using it in some way.
