I have location services on and am not experiencing any battery drain. iPhone 11 Pro running most recent iOS 14 update. The last FordPass update shows 9/23.
I think the iOS 14 has plenty of bugs to work out.
This morning I looked at the battery section on my iPhone XS Max, to my surprise, Waze was using 33% but, even though I have Waze on my phone, I never use it and I have everything related to it turned off including having it turned off under the cellular settings.
I have no idea how it could use 33% with everything turned off.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Perhaps in the background, Google maps is using it in some way.
Anyway, I just deleted it from my iPhone.
Very strange indeed.
had same exact thing happen to me. Deleted it as well
Whatever the issue is - it's been well documented on the internet and Waze is having the same issue. I had to delete them both. Hopefully, and update soon will address the issue.

It's more likely that certain apps have problems in iOS 14, than iOS 14 itself causing it, if you know what I mean. And that's coming from an anti-Apple-fanboi/Android user
Also, even if you never used an app, but it has notifications turned on by default, it's probably always running in the background.

Thanks for the info. I never even considered that an app or a combination of apps might be causing these problems but now that I think about it, that makes perfect sense.
I know Apple is working on the next update so hopefully it’ll solve these issues and will be released soon or even better, when the new iPhone is presented next week.
I the new update 3.10.0 seems to have solved the issue for me. My FordPass app battery usage has returned to the normal 2% range! Hope it stays that way!
Considering that Android and Waze are Google products, I would hope they wouldn’t have any issues nor should they.

It's in reference to battery smart *** . Some battery issues are also known to be from a particular phone, not the OS
There have been Plenty of app issues, trust me.
I also updated FordPass today to version 3.10.0 so fingers cross that this will fix the issues.
On a side note, I noticed that the Maximum battery capacity on my iPhone XS Max dropped to 89% after the most recent iOS update whereas before the iOS update, the maximum capacity was 93%.
