4 speed New Process

Hi everyone, I've been working on a 78' f250 and I ran into an issue with the transmission. When I first picked the truck up and got it running, it shifted fine. I've had it in the garage on the lift and somewhere along the way it quit going into any of the gears. I finally got the truck torn down the rest of the way, and pulled the top off of the transmission. I also drained the oil and pulled the cover off of the side, and I found this clip on the magnet. I'm not sure where this clip goes for sure or where to get a new one. I'm guessing it is supposed to keep the shifting rod in place, and with the clip in the bottom it popped out of place. All the gears look good and everything else looks normal. I did put it back together to keep the dirt out, and it seems to work great again now. Any advice? Thanks

I'm not saying it's exactly the same, but in the NP205 that I have in pieces on my workbench that clip appears to "hold" the magnet in.
