Finally got my highboy home. She's rougher than a cob but I'm anxious to work on her.

Finally got my highboy home. She's rougher than a cob but I'm anxious to work on her.

Her resting place the last ten years, she didn't want to come out of it.

On the trailer at her new home.

I'm gonna eat me an import

Now the fun begins, I get to fab spring mounts, body mounts, floor pans, buy new patch panels, get her running and do the brakes. Only thing I can't do is the upholstery and I'm thinking this is a good project to learn on. She's a 75 F250, one owner truck, 360 is gone, replaced with a 390 in the early 80's, 4 speed, 4.10 gears in the rearends, gooseneck hitch, only part ever been repainted is the driver door and fender. Thanks for looking at my project to fit between client projects.

Thanks, I definitely have no problem tearing into it to redo everything. It's a one owner truck but that one owner worked it like a rented mule.

Just noticed your location, I'm not to far away. I grew up in Dearborn. I live over by Smithville now though..

I've never heard of Dearborn, MO. Smithville rings a bell but who knows why. I think I need to get out and travel the state more.

Hell there ain't nothing wrong with that. For anything that's been sitting 10 years, it looks sweet to me. Great find, I can't wait to get started working on Ka'Bluey once kids go back to school next week, and I get the Ranger out of here.

Talking

thats rough? you should see my D/D!!!!! but hey I do have one question could you take a pic of the front end again... by the picture it looks like the front end has been replaced with a 77.5 -79 front end. highboys had external locking hubs them has internal...or somebody done a hub swap...
it don't hurt nothing and not ******* just something i noticed I had 3 highboy still got one need any info just buzz me ....

a few things regular bed will not bolt directly one frame is narrow in the back like a f-350 will have to drill new holes

front end is a 44 low pinon with external locking hubs usally drum until the 76-77 models (also depends who ordered it) early front end had the ball instead of open nuckle the 77.5-79 are high pinion with internal lock outs

had divorced t-case you will have 3 drive shafts

most highboys had power assist streering (a big shock with lines running to it) not power steering like the 78 models various ways to convert..

forgot the spring widths..

these are awsome trucks

I've been hindered on the project by cruising my convertible Buick and burning my right hand this past weekend. I have a 62 Impala and the 85 Chevy still in the shop before I can even think of touching this one. I might have the wife's permission though to spend some time this winter on her and my projects and blow off customer stuff.
