2020 CC SB Lariat FX4 with a 6.7 and my wife says, "It's 2020, why does every other light in this truck come as an LED but Ford makes the LED headlights an option. IT'S A $73,000 TRUCK!!!"
Ford really screwed the pooch. That said, I installed a set of Sylvania Silverstar Ultras in the quad beam of the truck and it made a HUGE difference over the stock Sylvanias I pulled out.
I'm not interested in a full module swap at the moment so the Ultras do the job. I still need to replace the bulbs in the fog lights.

Really? Please share some details as they do seem to be the best halogen option based on testing I've reviewed from many different sources. How's the improvement on low beam and also high beam?

Thanks for your time.
The initial difference was noticeable with just one side of the truck completed and tested in my garage. The stock Sylvanias are as basic white bread as they come with barely enough light to pass the illumination requirement.
Upon final install of all four lights, the forward illumination was significantly improved enough that I no longer feel like I want to scrap the entire lighting system and replace it with an LED swap over. While the overall color of the Silverstar Ultras is still a warmer light than the cold white of LED, there is a superior amount of light thrown forward to the point that I now will get flashed occasionally by oncoming traffic. That stops when I hit them with the high beams.
Regarding the high beams, while I don't agree with Ford's methodology of turning off the fog lights and not flipping all four beams to high, when the high beams are activated, the two top bulbs produce a significant amount of forward illumination. Enough so that I feel confidant using the automatic high beams.
For a greatly lower priced option over a full LED conversion, and knowing that the halogen light housings aren't optimized for drop in LED bulbs, I think the Silverstar Ultras are well worth looking into. You will need 4 bulbs, and dual packs can be found for less than $40 on the interwebs. I happened to get mine off eBay.

And as we've seen here, that's just for the lights. No wiring harnesses or any other extraneous parts that may be needed for the conversion.
As you know, it's not a simple plug & play.
I had Morimoto XB’s on my previous F150 and just yesterday installed them on my F350. I installed Beamtech LED replacement bulbs< but I really love the look of the Morimoto lights. I guess now I’ll put the halogens back into the stock buckets and sell the Beamtech’s

I was about the first on this forum with Beamtech and began what became a lengthy thread on them. But I really like the look of the Morimoto XB Hybrid from the online images I've seen. Actually liked them better than the OEM LED's. I'd been considering them for a couple of weeks now and yesterday decided to bite the bullet and try a set.
I ordered from forum sponsor Dude's Diesel Performance. I'm hoping that I can swap out the halogen turn signal bulbs with the LED switchbacks that I currently use. If not, I'll see what I can get fro GTR Lighting. That's what I have currently and they seem to be the only bulbs that fit securely in the socket without having to tape them. For those interested, Dude's will upgrade the Morimoto to amber LED or switchback for another $49.

This thread is a little old but it's the most relevant one I could find, and fall is here so headlights are going to be important to people again.
Here's my experience:
In the last several years I've always upgraded stock halogen bulbs with Supernova V.4 or GTR Lighting Ultra 2 LED bulbs that I buy from Headlight Revolution. These LED bulbs are not cheap at around $100 each, but they are specifically designed to be used in halogen housings. They are clock-able for correct orientation, use good heat sinks, and the chips are installed at the correct distance from the base of the bulb so that the beam patterns are perfect. I've had AMAZING results from both of these bulbs retrofitting into halogen housings on a few different trucks.
With this new-to-me F-250 I decided to take the cheaper route. I bought Silvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs, quantity 4, and installed them in place of the stock halogen bulbs. I had used Silverstar bulbs many years ago with less than stellar results, but I guess I expected to maybe have better luck this time.
Well, maybe the LED bulbs have spoiled me, or maybe the Silverstars are still just not great, but the end result is that I'm only marginally satisfied. The Silverstars are slightly whiter in light color, because they die the glass around the element with a blue hue. The intensity and beam pattern are hardly any different at all. These have added almost no additional visibility whatsoever. Are they worth $100? I don't think so. Maybe half that, I'd be ok with them. But I guess I'll start saving money for some LED bulbs for next year before we get around to fall again. For this year I'll keep running these. I honestly wonder if the Silverstar bulbs are the exact same bulb as the OE that I took out with the only difference being the blue die on the globe surrounding the element. Wouldn't that be some crazy marketing.
So anyway, if you are not happy with the light output on your halogen housings, do yourself a favor and buy QUALITY LED bulbs from a reputable vendor like Headlight Revolution. Don't buy cheap junk from eBay or Amazon that isn't engineered correctly. Go ahead and spend the money on real LED bulbs. The intensity, color temp, and beam patterns on the Supernova V.4 bulbs is AMAZING. You won't believe the difference.
I find the stock halogen headlights (at least I think they are halogen) in my 2019 SD 6.2 don’t really light up my life enough especially around midnight during the whitetail rut. I’ve looked a bit into upgrades and found everything from complete fixtures for $1,000 a pop to individual LED bulbs for $25 each. I also read that a lot of aftermarket “brighter” bulbs may not be street legal. Has anyone have success in jacking up the lumen output of their headlights with some good quality LED bulbs?
I installed two sets of Phillips LED bulbs with the adapters from Headlight Experts. They are on sale for $99/kit right now.
Added the Beamtech in my now gone 2016 and was happy. Also installed some driving lights, but as you stated, need to turn them on and off. Didn’t really need them after the Beamtech unless I wanted to really light it up. So far been happy with the light output on the 2023. Much better than the 2016, but haven’t put too much night driving on it yet.
