Motorcraft Oil Filter Swap?

Motorcraft Oil Filter Swap?
I have a Focus 2.0 liter, an Edge 2.0 liter Eco-Boost that take the Motorcraft FL-910S Oil Filters. My 5.0 liter F-150 uses the Motorcraft FL-500S Oil Filter. I’m wondering if I could use the FL-500S on the Focus and Edge. The outer dimensions on both filters is the same, the gasket position and size is the same. The FL-500S is longer, would hold more oil,”I checked this a while back,” and has what I’m assuming is a bigger Filter area. The reason I want to do this, is both the Focus and Edge take an odd amount of oil, so that would even it out to an even quart amount. Also I can buy the Motorcraft filters in bulk, for a cheap price. They Edge does have a Bumper to Bumper Ford extended warranty on it to 75K Miles. BTW I cut open a used FL-920S a long time ago, the Filter has a glued seam in the pleat. I understand the FL-500S has a glued and metal crimped seam.

I don't know I'd swap oil filter types or sizes if there is/was a B2B warranty---it MIGHT be cause for dishonoring said warranty if any lubrication issues popped up. However oil filters often share the same thread and general footprint but vary in height or length due space considerations of where they'll be used.
FWIW I buy the Motorcraft FL820-S filters in bulk through FleaBay---about $45 shipped. They're bulk packed which doesn't matter to most of us I'm sure. You might check there for the two different types you need.
If the vehicle is out of warranty then I don't see why using the same sized filter on both vehicles would be a problem.
