Hi, my e350 2012 5.4 engine is knocking on the piston pin or collecting rod from what I and the mechanic ear. Something is knocking if I hit the gas and release it fast or if the engine float (not pulling, not compressing)
I've think to remove the oil pan to check it, but still a lot of work just to see without be able to fix it.
Personal situation: I've buyed this van 18000 with 89k km
Think it was like new. Runned 18000km and redone the front end for 4000$. Still have 10k to pay on it, it's a kind of money pit now, but I still need a truck to tow my trailer to bring my family all across canada.
So my question is:
Do I run the engine until id died (not knocking when pulling)?
-replace the hole engine with used one ?
-Redone the engine (4500$ from what I see)
-part-out this truck ?
-sold it to garage (already tried but all place I seen offer my less than 6000 and they dont know about the engine problem ?
-try to sold it by myself on auction ?
Do you know good shop in east canada who can help with that ?
