When it stops responding Just after I shut down and restart
Seeing if anyone has any advice on where to look. 2006 f250 with 126k miles. Stuck right now since smog is coming up and since I am in ca deleting is not an option. I have read a lot of threads on areas to look for and tried some of them with no luck. So far egr cooler has been replaced about 20k ago with a stock style one. Turbo was cleaned about 20k mikes ago. Egr valve has about 100 miles on it. Iat 2 sensor I just cleaned and it seems to be reading the same as iat 1. Checked the map port line and it was clear. Cleaned the maf as well with no luck.
What seems off is with my obd gauge shows the egr valve working for a few minutes as I can see the iat temp difference. The egr valve reads as open and I can see it change. After a couple of miles the egr says 0% and the iat equalizes to around ambient temp. If I pull over and shut down the truck and turn back on egr functions for a little bit. Anyone have any ideas where to look next?
Checked it and was all clear. Cleaned the inside of the sensor while I had it out too. What does a normal iat 1 and iat 2 temp spread look like when it’s function properly. When the egr is open I can see the iat 2 temp go up. I am assuming it’s not clogged since the temp rises
Replaced the egr valve again and made it 20 miles before p0401 popped up. What is confusing it passed the current drive cycle and shortly after egr stopped responding.
Finally figured it out. Seems like my truck didn’t like my k&n intake. Put the stock intake back on and replaced the o ring for the ccv. Took about 18 miles and everything showing ready.
