Is it UV or ULV? I thought it was UV? ULV and UV don't mix together?
Mine is 2017 so the chart show UV unless others are using ULV on their 6.7 (2017)
Well wrong thread for a 2017. The fluid for a 6 speed in 2017 was LV fluid. None of these service procedures apply and and sure don't use ULV in a 6R140.

Just to clarify the fluid type, I believe what you meant to ask was LV or ULV.............................as far as I know there is no such thing as UV.
My 2021 specs using LV trans fluid in the transfer case and power steering, but you must use ULV trans fluid in the 10R140 transmission.

For those of you that have changed your fluid and filter, how many quarts did you use? Instructions say to expect 6 quarts for initial fill and 2 additional quarts for pan removal and filter replacement, for a total of 8 quarts. I just do not want to buy more than needed at the price per quart for ULV, or find out I need more to top off at the end. Thanks, Philip.
Preparing to do this soon, I'm seeing the fill volume vary a lot depending I where I read it. Does anyone that has actually done it have any info how much Mercon ULV it takes?
No! The 10r140 requires 6 full quarts at initial fill. Anything less will damage the pump. You fill based on trans temp and dipstick reading. This is done with the truck running so its a tad hot to check. Never check fluid level with the truck off.
Doing mine today at 42,000 miles. Fluid very dark but no bad smell.
I hadn’t started the truck in 24 hrs, so cold, and when I pulled the level/fill plug, fluid gushed out. Level was well above the top of the hole. And my total drain volume pulling the pan and filter was 10qts. I was expecting about 6 qts. I’m going back withe the AFE pan which is supposed to be 4qts over stock / about 14 qts. I’ll be following the Ford fill procedure linked in this thread tomorrow…

Finished up today, took ~16qts withe the AFE (+4qts) pan. Needed 17 to fill but estimated 1qt drained when hot.
