P0001 code crank no start, I recently replaced the high pressure fuel pump gasket and put it all back together and it ran one whole day. I noticed a leak from the turbo it was not seated correctly on the oil return seal. well i fixed that in about 5 min and now its giving me a P0001 code im thinking i need to replace the fuel rail pressure sensor and just in case the fuel pump filter on the low pressure pump. Does anyone have an idea or suggestions what else it might be. Thanks for the help in advance.
P0001 is an open circuit to the Volume Control Valve on the high pressure fuel pump, if the plug has come undone from the VCV the high pressure fuel pump can NOT make pressure and your truck won’t run.
I would check for loose plugs around the high pressure fuel pump, unplug plugs and check for bent, broken or pushed out pins, look for any wiring they may have been pinch and broken around that area.
I would not change the fuel pressure sensor or low pressure fuel pump filter as that will just cost you money for nothing.
An update to P0001 I checked all all the plugs to the HPFP. All the connectors were in good shape and secured. So I started to check continuity on all the pins and the connector all was looking good no faults till I checked the connector from the HPFP to the mail wiring harness. I had voltage to each pin till I moved the connector to the side. Every time I shook the wire it lost power. Hopefully replacing this harness will fix it ordered the parts and they should be in by Friday. I will update after all is back together and hopefully running. Wire assembly Part#8C3Z-9F759-AA
I put the truck back together with the new harness and it started right up, I did make 2 errors I might have pulled on cylinder 5 glow plug wire in getting an open circuit on cylinder 5, and leaking oil from the low pressure oil drain tube. I did not align the turbo right. Practice make perfect parts on order.
