Hi, I've been in some threads where this has been discussed - and our truck, Max Tow but with 18" wheels, shouldn't have come with the upgraded sway bar; that said I've seen posts where folks trucks HAVE the large sway bar, when they shouldn't. I've done some searches and the best I've come up with is that there are 3 sway bars you can have up front: AA, AB, CB - as I understand it that order is lightest to heaviest duty. Where are you guys finding the sway bar sticker? I've looked, not too hard, but don't see it... I've measured my front sway bar and it is 1.465" in cross-section diameter. Does anyone know what each option's thickness is?
Was planning on replacing our bar with the CB, but what's on there is pretty beef-cake looking already. We haven't put many miles on yet, but so far the handling feels tight...
Figured I was just being a lazy butt by not looking harder for a sticker on the front sway bar, so I just did and I found it (under the felt body pan). And I found it quite interesting too...
No pic, but I wrote down what it had on it:
First Line: symbol that looks like a zero with a line through it followed by 36.0 (I'm guessing it's a 36mm bar, pretty close to what I measured)
2nd Line: JL34
3rd Line: 5494
Last line: CC
Red is My emphasis, because now do we have Four Front Sway Bar options???! And if it follows the two character progression, the CC would be the thickest...???
What year is your truck? I was only aware of the first three you mentioned. And take with a grain of salt since I am going on what I believe I read somewhere here before and no actual knowledge of my own, but the AB is larger than the AA, and the CB is solid where the other two are hollow (CB and AB are the same size). Your post is the first I've heard of a CC bar. Subscribed to see what others chime in with.

Thanks - I will be too: mine is most definitely a solid bar - it is only because I read of at least one other truck where he did not have Max Tow and did not have 20s, yet had the CB bar up front. Do you have a caliper you could measure your bar thickness? Anything like that 36.0 on the sticker like mine has? Since it is within hundredths of an inch of being 36mm, it could just be some casting I caught or heck the thickness of the powder coating... Maybe I better put it in my sig line "and 36mm super HD front sway bar"

On edit it's a 2020 - just got it Friday afternoon - ordered it 3 1/2 months ago...
I have spent more time under the truck, and I'm now doubting that I have a solid sway bar... Initially looking at casting marks, which looked just like other solid sway bars, I think I got carried away with this "CC" bar and finding out what it was... Looking hard at the bar, it looks too perfect to me along the straight sections. The bends and ends look cast, but the final test that makes me think it is a hollow bar is I started tapping on it. It is a ting, not a thump of solid steel. Anyway, jumped to a conclusion a bit fast... Sorry folks Anybody determine what the heck a CC bar is equivalent to - I'm thinking an AB most likely, but perhaps it is thicker walled?? And if someone would measure their bar and post up what it is?
Thanks,
Scott
Well I am at a loss, went and looked at the new 20's we have here and all have CB bars. These are all STX trucks with 20" wheels.
Did you see my post about how now I don't think it is a solid bar? I'm wondering if it is something a bit stronger than an AB, but then still it doesn't follow what seems to be the "strength" naming progression if it was that... There was the one thread you were in where the owner also had 18s but had the CB bar - somebody could have put that on, then again not sure how close the factory sticks to what is on the build sheet in an area like that... Puzzling...
Okay, I found another late model F150 bar that has all the same lines as mine (36.0, JL34, 5494), other than it is AC on the last line. Question: It appears that the hollow bars have square ends - looks just like a tube that has been flattened. The CB bars I've seen pictures of have round ends and look cast. My bar looks like it has cast round ends... Anyone care to take a stab on THAT being a way to tell solid versus hollow bar??
Thanks,
Scott
Mine is a CB, rounded on the ends. 2015, 3.5 EB, 157" WB, max tow w/18" wheels from the factory. Sometimes it still feels like it's not enough, but my shocks are probably tired after 5 years.
CB. "sounds solid" when I tap I guess. 36mm diameter (4.5 inch circumference). Not sure what you're all looking at as far as rounded or boxed on the end. Pic included.
nddragon01 - thanks for the pic and tapping the bar. I think I'm going to try my "tap test" with something metal - mine looks just like yours on the end...
JKBrad: Thanks for checking. Not sure if 20s were required in your year, but it gives me some hope...
