Dtc code 1780

I have an 2007 STX special addition and have had a slew of trouble out of my Aamco replacement transmissions and recently had #5 put it. The truck feels like it bogs out on the take off sometimes, around the 40 to 50 range sometimes. I took it to a local mechanic who had a better OBD reader than I do. Mine is showing all green lights but his found DTC code P1780 which is the TCS. I'm a fairly decent mechanic but have never messed with the transmissions, is this something easy or hard to do and where can you find the tcs?

The P1780 probably means the test operator failed to cycle the TCS during KOER test.

It is very unlikely to be indicative in any way as to what is wrong with the truck or the transmission.

That is the only code coming up, do you have any suggestions on what else may be causing it? I really dont have the money to go flying blind. Any help would be appreciated.

Why are you making this your problem? You paid Aamco to install it, so let them solve the issue. By messing with it you could be giving them a reason to void your warranty and send you packing.

Maybe not the transmission

Are you sure it's the transmission? Sounds more like a fuel/air delivery symptom, to me. When's the last time it had a tune-up? I would start cleaning the MAF sensor, throttle body and possibly even go as far as cleaning up and inspecting the intake manifold runners...

this is the 5th aamco transmission in 4 years. I traveled alot and they are everywhere is the only reason I used them. Turned out a old friend bought an aamco so when the last one went out it was out of warranty. He hooked me up with another one at a great price but the warranty is only at his shop and I'm in another state. Plus as it turns out the OD switch is the cause of the code and it's on the gear shift which isnt part of a warranty.

I guess I was on the wrong thread, when replying with that previous comment. Lol... But I'm glad to hear you got it resolved! 👍😁

all good suggestions, I'm pretty food about the upkeep and maintenance. It's always something I just hope when I switch the gear shift that solves the problem.
