Take a sharpie/chalk/grease pencil and mark where the caliper is inside the rim. You might tape your marking device to something and reach thru from the outside. Then make it a full circle mark on the inside back side of the rim and tell the tire guys that is there working line. If they just have to use stick on's to get them to balance out. They should be able to use clamp on rim edge weights on the back side though. Take a pic of the caliper to wheel clearance.
HB front leave spring count 5 or 6? If yours are worn and sagging, new is the best call IMO, quick, fast and easy, bolt and go. And you might not even have to put the rear add-a leaf on. 2" Skyjacker https://www.rockymountainsusp.com/li...0/1966-79.html
Found this discussion for us all ."This isFord specification. Tighten all 1/2" lugnuts to 100 ft/lbs, and 9/16" lugnuts to 140 ft/lbs. This is Ford specification. I am sitting here looking right at my 1977 Ford Truck Shop Manual and it states F100 through F250 with 1/2-20 lugs 90 ft-lbs."
The tire shop is going to try large truck edge weights and see if they will stay secure. He was not optimistic. If that fails, we will use your plan of identifying a circumference in the wheel that has enough clearance for tape weights. Thanks. Kirt
I'm not sure what that is.. Is that product inside the tire that uses force to balance the wheel/tire? I think I have heard of a powder product that does something like that. That's a positive idea. Should tire shops carry something like that?
They are small glass beads but look like a power if spilled on the ground. They are used alot in big rigs so those shops and some regular tire shops around here carry them I personally use them in my 2011 f250 with 33 inch tires, and on most my old trucks with35s or 36s they worked well for me. They come in different size bags and there is a chart that tells you what size bag for what size tire. Break the bead on one side throw the bag an all inside tire and reseat the bead. Some companies used a machine the bows them in threw the valve stem but i have always used the bag, it breaks when you drive and releases the beads.
