I just wanted to know the opinions of more experienced folk than myself.
I'm new to the 7.3 engine and I would like to get one in the future, but all the ones in my area are jsut so insanely expensive.
Yes I know these are very desireable but I'm wondering if it's a good idea to just find like say an F-350 with no motor and tranny in it and just drop in a remanufactured engine.
Would that be a good idea or should I just stick with a genuine Ford engine?
If remanufactured engines are a good idea, are there any good brands to look out for?
Thanks.
I would rather buy a higher mileage 7.3 with clean title that runs great and has low blow by. Just be patient and keep shopping. If you come across a truck that is too clapped out just walk away.
I blew up my motor and was stranded with my 5th wheel and didn't know what to do. Found a diesel shop who advised me to put in a Jasper motor and two years later with about 17K on it, its running great. The motor was $ 5K. I think if you did find a good donor truck that would be a option for you!
