Interesting looking truck. Looks like fun. I have only used the channel with the aluminum so I guess I am not any help.

Interesting that it has the 1960 grille and hood. The left hand made me double take. Neat ride! The dash pad is good for those brake tests hurts a little less then the metal I'm sure.

As for the seals you installed, I have some and am curious about where the fit issue was for you? Did you pull out the whole assembly?

I've yet to do mine but did take 1 side apart and there is a lot more seals then just the perimeter/ channel part you mention. The new seals also have the little plastic nubs, where it was metal tabs on the original seal, into radius of the main window track, Im not sure the non backed seal would really stay put that easily. The rattlers and vent window seals also seem to set the depth of the division bar and rear of the channel. Theres also glass tape that sets the glass window into the lift track for it all.

Mabe the rubbers are supposed to be down inside the door? where it’s lifting and gaping, not sure as

Mine where pretty rough as well. The only thing I’ve seen that seems to be the easy way to seat the thin lip is roving rope the little perimeter so it pulls the lip over. And lots of soapy water. You know, slippery when wet.
