their ideas baffle me .Ebay item #320430740294
What you see here is a new way to get rid of a bunch of second rate parts that have minimum value if sold separately. Pretty easy to put one of these together. I have a parts tuck in the side yard that would be the perfect candidate for one of these. They look like a farm implement with no ground clearance. I know that you will get a chorus of people saying to each his own. But the truth is it does not take a lot of talent to put one of these together.
Showed my wife the pics .Her reply "What is the purpose ?" Then she laughed . Even she noticed the electric pole insulators for tail lights .Have some of them laying around .Maybe he needs some more .He can have them . Can't even sell them on upay .
The only difference between this and some of the hot rods of the 40's and 50's we used mostly Model T and Model A bodies, same frame set up. What ever we could afford. Ours were probally not as safe as his pickup. If it looks good to him and it is safe, ok. The rat rods etc are coming on strong, saving some from the salvage crusher. I like all cars and trucks. Build and drive for fun. chuck
Looks like you know what but I bet its a blast to drive
Its a Johnny Cash truck, built it once piece at a time, unfortunately he changed jobs during the build. First the Ford truck plant, then the Ford tractor plan, then a lineman for the electric company...
Ford tractor?!? Blasphemy! That grille and half a hood came off of a Ferguson TO-20 or TO-30. Those tractors tried really hard to be Fords, but they aren't.
It really doesn't make any difference, though. I don't think that there's ANY kind of tractor hood that you could slap on that contraption and make it look any better. It does, however, look LOADS better than the last one of these rolling salvage yards that got tacked up here. That rear engine COE hurt my head.
went to a rat rod show in ventura ca. yes some of them looked like they put everything in their back yard on them. some had good ideas. like 49fordpickumup said, back in the 40s 50s and early 60s we did stuff like that. i put a steering system in a 49 ford that was set up like a bus, straight down thru the floor. then lowered the front and raised the back so high it looked like a stink bug. probably the most unsafe car ever built. even the local cop didn't like it????????
