I bought an inexpensive one back in the '90's that was chrome plated. It rusted, even in (mostly) dry Texas. It still functions just fine, and has for almost 30 years. I keep it on my beater truck.
Since then, I have bought a stainless one. Since the definition of "stainless" is highly subjective, will see how this one does.
Just something to consider, as far as construction materials goes...especially if you live where salt is common.
