4.9 EEC-IV success

While many of us Ford aficionados revert to Duraspark II setups, I just wanted to say that I was able to get mine working perfectly recently. Or at least what seems to be running perfectly. I can't tell if the air bleed solenoid is actually working, or if I have the correct wires hooked up to it, as the harness got scorched from an exhaust leak. However, after supplying power to the computer, removing the extra "pre-filter" in the fuel line, and lastly replacing the computer coolant sensor in the thermostat housing, the truck starts, idles, and runs very well. Before the kicker solenoid would make it rev really high in park, but after reading somewhere that the engine coolant sensor is the "main sensor" it seemed that it would be worthwhile to replace. It was also one of the codes I pulled as well, with TPS being out of adjustment, but they are fed from the same power source as well which probably affected it.

So, for those who have computer controlled carbs, it can be done! Just wanted to report my good luck.

I am glad it's running well. What codes do you have now?
