I really hope they aren't coming from the compressor. I'm not looking to spend any more money on it, the rockers are rusting out and for what it'll cost to fix I can buy a rust free truck or maybe something else. I mean, I like the Ex but I've spent a lot over the years keeping it running and I don't use it enough to justify putting that much money into it. I don't think I'm going to fix the rear A/C for now, I'm just going to leave it.
There is nothing in the system to my knowledge that produces that debris, I could be wrong. All the O rings are either Black, Green, or Purple depending on what day it was manufactured. My system was original and never worked on till I re-did as much of it as I could, I found both Green O rings, and Purple O rings on the same system.
If your system has run long enough to push any remaining debris to their stopping points, IE front Orifice/Strainer, and the rear TXV, then you can open the system again and clean the front Strainer, and possibly replace or clean the rear TXV, a warning though that I went through on mine, one of the TXV nuts was fused to either the aluminum tube, and or the aluminum TXV block. Fortunately I had purchased both a TXV and Rear Evaporator.
