Vacuum valve

I seem to be having a problem with the vacuum valve in my heater lines. This valve is located just before the hose enters the heater core on a pickup with AC. The problem is that it doesnt want to open up when I turn the heater on. I can manually open the valve and the heater works great but it wont do it from the cab. There is no "suck" on the vacuum hose that attaches to it when you put a finger over it. Any suggestions??

Vacuum valve

AH Fordman grasshopper, It's called backwards searching. You must follow that hose backwards all the way back to the to the engine intake, and you will find why yo hose aint suckin.

It's either got a hole in the line or it aint connected to the sucker. Do the other hoses on the heater suck? Is it sucking at the control manafold?

Just roll up your sleeves mon and find the missin sucking.

If your setup is like mine the vacuum for that switch comes out of the engine and goes to the heater control slider on the dash. When you move the slider it routes the vacuum to open the valve. The leak may be anywhere in that system. It might be as simple as the plug into the back of the heater/AC control being loose.
