By the description in the manual, there is upfitter switch wiring ready to tie-into "...under the instrument panel on the right-hand side of the passenger footwell." When I open that up, I find a bundle of wires there, but they don't appear to be for the upfitter switches.
Where are the upfitter wires?
What are the ones I found?
(Manual page and picture of what I found attached.)
Darn. Searching for "upfitter" in the forum didn't find any discussion. After posting this, I found the following thread. Sorry about the extra thread for nothing.
Aha! I found them. Here's what it all looks like on a 2020 F350. It a bundle, all taped up on the underside of the upfitter fuse box. Looks like they just couldn't be bothered to actually pull them into the cab and leave them in the passenger footwell as the manual indicates.
To get at the bundle, I unlatched the fuse box and pulled it up. (I did not untape/unbundle the wires, but I'm sure that's what you see in my pics.)
Yes,those are the upfitter wires taped and bundled coming out the bottom of the fuse box. The bundle you found next to fuse panel inside the cab are for the PTO controls. Most common use is the high idle mod which there are several threads covering the process.
So Im trying to understand this. I keep getting confused on these ‘20. The wires that are under the fuse box in the pics are ready to tie a wire into for an accessory and not the ones inside the cab ?
On the 17 to 19's. The main upfitter wires are the ones under the fuse box drivers side engine compartment.
the ones inside the passenger kick panel are just feed throughs from the engine compartment.
so you dont have to make a way in.
and would have to run a wire from the drivers side wires to the passenger side and tie to the correct color and so on.
Theres a thread about taking out the passenger side wheel well to have easier access to make the connection.
