My 2005 Forest River Sunseeker 2900LE on the 2004 Ford E-450 chassis is leaking at the rear differential and I would like to know what fluid is required to refill. The tag reads the following:
4.56 (upside down triangle) 3C24-BA
606975-3
The door sticker identifies the axle code as 83; however, when I looked up that axle code it says it contains 4.10 ratio gears. The tag on the rear differential cover says 4.56.
I'm pretty sure it's an open differential that does not require friction modifier additive, but not 100% on that. Also, the manual lists a couple different viscosities for the differential fluid. I would like to know for sure what oil to put in once I reseal the cover. Thanks!
