Central Locking Woes
Central Locking Woes
I've been having some difficulty with the central locking.
Both the fob and the armrest toggle create a response, but they do not engage the locks.
I hear a ticking from the center of the dash console behind the radio. (solenoid maybe?).
The lock dongles on the doors give a shudder but don't go up or down, but after the 3rd or 4th attempt, they lose enthusiasm and stop responding.
Any ideas?

if the locks are TRYING to move, but dont, it may be that the solenoids inside the door are weak... your talking 20 years old... i have had that in the past. ....... you can remove the door panel and spray, exercise the links and see if that helps... and jumper the solenoid wires to see if you can get it to stroke... but they make be worn out.
