What’s everyone seeing in real MPG on the new transmission with bigger tires? I just leveled my F350 and I’m debating on going 35 inch tires or 37 inch tires, both on the factory wheel.
I don’t know about with bigger tires. I just got back from California, picking up my new f250 xlt 6.7. Going up I5 from Modesto with cruise on till Redding I got 21.8 mpg. All the way to SW Washington the trip and hand calc. I got 22 mpg
There's a pretty recent thread on this with a lot info from people. I'll sum it up for you: "I get 27 MPG towing 30k trailers over mountain passes" or " I consistently get 12 unloaded." Depending on how much Kool-Aid you drink and how much you believe strangers in the Internet, just pick something between those two that strikes your fancy.
2020 Platinum with the 6.7 Powerstroke and I get about 14-15MPG around town and 16-18MPG on the highway. I have 295/65/20's on Hostile rims on the truck since I got it and about 3K miles on the truck itself. Of course if it goes through a regen cycle the mileage tanks about 2Mpg for that tank. This by the way is calculated from the lie o meter on the dash, I have been to lazy to calculate it by hand.
Trip from TX to CO and back (no trailer). Driving 7 mph over the speed limit. 19.3 mpg going with one regen. Returning was a partial regen and 20.8 mpg
Pulling a cargo trailer (7' tall x 8' wide) got 9.2 and 9.3 for the same trip. This time at 5 mph over the speed limit. This trip it was very windy
Pulling my 26' fiver I am getting 11-11.5 mpg at 70-75 mph vs 9.5 mpg in the old '16 6.7
I am very pleased with the engine's power and the 10 speed. Only complaint is it really sucks down the DEF when I tow. Appears to be twice the amount the '16 used
Before my 2020 broke down and was stolen, I was getting 21 on highway from Houston where we bought it to south Florida. Only stopped 2x for fuel for the trip and had little less than 1/2 tank when got home. No idea on city mpg. Didn’t have long enough. Didn’t even have 20 miles city driving
My 2020 F-350 XLT crew cab regular bed 6.7 is only 6 weeks old with 1100 miles and it's stock. I consistently get 15-16 mpg around town and on a country back road every day. I'm easy on the pedal. It bumped up to almost 19 when an 80 mile freeway trip was added in. I'm very happy with the mileage. It dropped to 15.8 mpg after a short 7 mile 6000 lb trailer tow was added in.
Not 6.7, but my old CC 2WD 03 Duramax would get 20-21 MPG hand calculated. That was with the bed loaded with luggage and 4 in the cab, and the speed kept at 65 max. It was like as soon as I went over that speed I could see the drop. It appears the 6.7 does about the same, at least when it's not regenning, which really is incredible MPG for these big trucks.
