I get it after they explained to me it will trigger a code while it's happening. What's frustrating is I went there twice while it was happening, the service advisor took pictures and scheduled an appointment for me to come back. I spoke with someone higher up the food chain, someone I've known for years and the next time it occurs he said bring it by and they will hook up to it right then.

I hope the APIM doesn’t have to be replaced but there’s a strong possibility you’ll need a new one.
If they have to replace the APIM, I hope you have a Ford ESP otherwise, it’s going to cost $500.00 plus to replace it with a new one.
I have the premium with $50 deductible which I already paid. They won't charge me that again they said.
Awesome.
I had to have my APIM replaced on my 2016 F150 awhile back and like you, I have a Ford Premium ESP $0 deductible so it didn’t cost me anything.
What‘s really want weird is that before it was replaced and while I was waiting on it to come in because they had to order it, whenever I would use Apple CarPlay, everything worked fine and flawlessly but whenever I would revert back and try to use the actual OEM SYNC interface, that’s when all of the problems would start happening.
Good luck on getting it fixed and working properly.
I started having issues with mine, sometimes it won’t come off the clock screen and other times it locks up and the home button starts blinking and it beeps every time it blinks. Is there a way to get it to stop while driving? I have been stopping and turning the truck off and restarting it to get it to reset.

Well, there’s no need to stop and turn your vehicle off like you have been doing.
All you need to do is hold down the power and track forward button until the screen goes blank and then release said buttons.
By doing this you’re doing a soft reboot of the SYNC 3 system.
With the weird problems you’re having, I would just do a Master Reset.
To do a complete Master Reset of the SYNC 3 which is a more extreme version of the above info, just hit the Settings button, then General, then scroll down to the bottom and hit Master Reset.
By doing the Master Reset, most if not all info that you’ve setup on the SYNC screen will be erased so you’ll have to set it up again. Below are things that will have to be setup again.
WiFi, Bluetooth, Radio and SiriusXM presets if you have SiriusXM.
I just wanted to post a follow up. They updated all 3 modules with the latest and greatest and it's been fine ever since. I am thinking the issue is resolved now. It's been over 3 weeks since they did it and it hasn't happened once.

Very cool.
Did they replace the APIM or just updated everything with new software.
I hope this completely fixes the issues you were having.
