Right, my local dealer wants to deal off MSRP.
So they have a Tuscany conversion out front ( lifted large wheels) based off of a 21 Lariat 6.7L and a sticker price of 98k on it. They’ed cut me a deal at 91k plus tax title and tags.
They're all sweet on you. Gotta keep an eye on them rascals.
My 2017 F250 KR KBB average trade-in value is the same price I paid for it ... $64K with 20,800 miles (MSRP was $72K on the window sticker when new). I found double-counting some options was not an issue because I could turn off a couple things I don't have, such as the premium package (didn't want the sunroof) and the adaptive cruise control. I entered condition as "very good" even though it still looks like new.
My daughter will be moving out of the country on a job assignment if the Scamdemic ever ends. In the mean-time, she is working from home and hasn’t needed her car for months. It is a 2006 Focus. She decided she’d like to sell it, so I looked it up. The KBB value was $2400, private sale, less for wholesale. She thought that she might get about $1800 for it. The AC didn’t work and it had just over 100,000 miles on it.
We have a CarSense nearby, so I stopped by to see what they might offer. They looked it up and wrote up a 7-day offer for $2400. Wondering what the local Ford dealer might offer, I thought that I’d give them a chance. They came up with $1800. I showed him the offer for $2400 and, with just a little negotiation, he came up to $2500. Sold. I have a very happy daughter. Just wacky.
Very true. Sales people are counting on the customer looking at only one side of the sale. Trade-in has always worked this way. That's why the best advice is to negotiate only one part of the sale at a time; Negotiate the trade in value first and once you have that hammered out, negotiate the new vehicle sale price.
Backwards work the new price first dont tell them **** about a trade until at the end and dang sure never tell them what you owe until the papers need printed to sign. They hate that ****.
Was at the dealer today talking new trucks. Last time I was there was march and they valued my truck at 38k. Right now it’s valued at 43k. Hard to believe. Thinking of trading in. Anyone else see there value jump up like this?
It’s true, my 2012 6.7 King Ranch was $35k a year ago, now it’s $45k. I sold it then but could have made $10k. That never happens, with quarantine lots of people bought trucks for toy pullers instead of traveling, so all the prices are up 20%.
I traded in my 17 6.7L Platinum Ultimate with 75k miles on it in December for $55k. Got me a 21 Tremor at a great price. Just got back from picking up my plates and they had my old one priced at $60,888 on the used lot. Also used a PCO of 2.5k so a massive upgrade for not much.
